FieldProof: specialty inspection evidence packets

Offline photo capture, timestamps, labelled checklist and reviewable PDF output for one non-diagnostic inspection job. No safety certification.

Who pays and who might buy?

Customer: Small specialty inspection firms preparing repeatable customer evidence reports

Acquirer hypothesis: Small mobile-app operator or inspection-software agency; six-month-history buyers excluded initially

Acquisition motives: Buy the income stream · Portfolio bolt-on

Minimum proof to seek

10 paying firms or 100 paying solo users; 200 completed reports; 4-week repeat usage; export/restoration and app-transfer rehearsal.

Competition and stop rule

CompanyCam already sells broad field documentation. Narrow workflow depth, not another camera app.

Stop when: Stop if paid acquisition costs outrun contribution or the only reachable buyers require six months of history.

Different tiers, different businesses

A $1k–$10k released app may transfer on its functional head start and store history. A $10k–$50k app needs genuine usage, repeat purchasing and transfer eligibility; do not confuse installs with subscriptions.

Price against verified operating profit OR a buyer-confirmed payback/buy-versus-build case. The target price is a negotiation hypothesis, not a valuation.

The $1m version needs retained field teams, reliable offline operation and normalized subscription earnings. At $10m, a field-service software buyer may value an embedded evidence workflow with material distribution. A $100m thesis requires platform-scale adoption or unique defensible capability; Apple review, privacy and minimum buyer history still apply. These are distinct future business models, not 30–90-day valuation forecasts. The economics lab backsolves the selected price only after its assumptions are accepted.
