Who pays and who might buy?
Customer: WooCommerce distributors using negotiated freight and custom quotes
Acquirer hypothesis: A quoting-plugin owner or WooCommerce agency with existing merchant distribution
Acquisition motives: Strategic capability tuck-in · Portfolio bolt-on
Minimum proof to seek
5 paying merchants; 100 real quote-to-order transitions; zero unresolved material-total mismatches in the pilot sample; at least 2 supported theme/payment combinations.
Competition and stop rule
A generic RFQ/negotiation app is already supplied. Individual review complaints must be reproduced before claiming a fix.
Stop when: Stop if problems cannot be reproduced, merchants will not pay for prevention, or compatibility support consumes the margin.
Different tiers, different businesses
A $1k–$10k original regression-test plugin or quote-audit utility can sell on replacement value. A $10k–$50k plugin needs working merchant installations, clean source rights and a reproducible handoff—not just screenshots.
Price against verified operating profit OR a buyer-confirmed payback/buy-versus-build case. The target price is a negotiation hypothesis, not a valuation.
The $1m version is a durable quote-integrity product with retained merchants and defensible normalized profit. The $10m version expands into a critical B2B commerce workflow sold through plugin portfolios or commerce platforms. A $100m thesis would require platform-scale distribution and defensible transaction infrastructure, not a larger quote-widget feature list. These are distinct future business models, not 30–90-day valuation forecasts. The economics lab backsolves the selected price only after its assumptions are accepted.
