The contribution ledger

A badge is a claim. Make it inspectable.

Identity, role, outcome and amount verification are different promises.

More than an image

Open Badges describes issuer, recipient, achievement criteria and evidence. The W3C credential model distinguishes claims, holders and verifiers. A good-looking PNG alone does not supply those properties.

Say what was reviewed

Do not replace several distinct checks with a universal verified label. A confirmed identity does not establish an exit amount. A signed statement protects its integrity; it does not make its underlying assertion true.

The initial release

Build Own Sell’s current card studio produces unsigned, self-reported visual summaries. Future reviewed milestones need scoped reviewer receipts and a correction or revocation path. Free and paid users must meet the same criteria.

Your next move: replace one important assumption with a dated piece of evidence.
